Tannis instructs our Summerland location and leads the BC division of the Tyson Method. As an active Mother of 3, Tannis finds that delicate balance in health for life. As one of our first-time online challenge subjects, Tannis lost 11 lbs and 5 1/2 inches in 6 weeks!
"I did the Tyson Method 6 Week Challenge in summer and had fantastic results - I was so excited that I went on to become a trainer! I was certified as a personal trainer over a decade ago and have really enjoyed getting back into it. I have always been pretty active but after having 3 kids and starting to see my metabolism slow down a bit I was 10-15 lbs over my ideal weight. During the challenge I worked out hard 3x/week and did one cardio on my own. I was motivated to look closely at my diet and found there were a lot of small changes I could make that ended up making a big difference. Overall, during the 6 weeks I lost 5 1/2 inches and 11 lbs! I am stronger, leaner and more confident than I've been in many years."
"I love to get out mountain biking and have done some bike camps that really push me to improve my riding. With 3 kids, home schooling and so many other interests I find I don't choose to go out as often as I used to though. Through the winter I play hockey once a week with a great group of women. The cardio, core and plyometric exercises used in the Tyson Method have been amazing conditioning. It's great social time and helps me stay in shape during the dark months. A few years ago I took up pottery and spend time in the studio whenever I can fit it in!
I could sum up my general approach to fitness in 3 words - form, function and fun. You have to do it right, it needs to be relevant to your daily life and if it's fun you are likely to stick with it!"

"I was telling someone though that old "old me" would have been delighted by an injury since it would give me a valid excuse to stop exercising, but I am determined to (smartly) keep at it. I have become Someone Who Exercises, no excuses. That's a pretty awesome change, if I do say so myself. It used to always just be a means to lose weight, then I'd quit. Not this time, though, thanks to all you've been teaching me. Thanks for all the support. :)"
